Located in the bustling and narrow confines of Soi Chan 51, this renovation project transforms three aging commercial shophouses into a cohesive home office and private residence. The site presented a rigorous architectural challenge: with party walls shared on three sides, the only source of natural light and ventilation was the front façade, which faces a narrow street and a neighbor in close proximity. Recognizing that the opposite property featured a parking area with significant existing trees, the architects adopted a strategy of selective framing, designing a home that carefully curates views to balance connection with the chaotic urban fabric against the need for domestic sanctuary.
