Urban Sanctuary: Redefining Privacy in Sukhumvit 16
Located in the rapidly densifying enclave of Soi Sukhumvit 16, this residence addresses the challenge of creating a private sanctuary amidst a growing forest of high-rise buildings. With a 200-square-wah plot, the architects were tasked with designing a home for a multi-generational family—comprising a couple, their children, and a grandmother—that prioritized privacy both from the chaotic urban exterior and between family members. To maximize the potential of the limited land, the three-story structure is pushed to the very edges of the property lines, turning the focus inward. The design strategy revolves around creating an "internal landscape," where green spaces, a swimming pool, and architectural voids become the primary visual elements, allowing the family to enjoy nature without exposure to the surrounding environment.
